PANDEMONIUM

Restlessness that goes beyond discursive verbalization.
Interpenetration of feelings.

Structures impregnated with meanings
captured in the direction of retaliation.

Sculpture for fingers How far is it? What is the time? what is life or what is important .. today distance and time seem to be an incomprehensible abyss that takes us to places unknown to us we are in a limbo where we find inner demons, darkness, madness, desire and our most basic needs extreme loneliness makes us live, makes us die, makes us feel and today we no longer know if we exist or not. eternal Darkness.

The “Jail” and “Opus Dei” masks represent the individual in a state
profane in the face of the vertigo of chaos. Drunkenness of fear to mitigate forgiveness.
“Jail”: asphyxia, tracheostomy; wired air, encapsulated - air vent
melancholy. “Opus Dei”: cross on the chest as an instrument of salvation; interruption
voice, vision, hearing, thinking. Both trapped, trapped,
amortized by the corrupted, infected, virulent system. We are caged.
Are we free ?!

POHL

Como vamos ser depois de tudo isso?

Será que iremos renascer?

Metamorfose.

Sem beijo, sem abraço, sem toque, sem afago, sem olhar, sem sentido.

Sufoca, aprisiona, paralisa... Máscaras, luvas, distanciamento, contas, confinamento, lavem as mãos.

"The only way to maintain social peace is that each individual or group can receive enough to make their lives worthy" Zygmut Bauman.

We are a family owned and operated business.

What happens when individuals or groups distance themselves from others, wanting to claim rights and privileges that they believe have been acquired and surpass those of others? They will certainly cause uncertainty, dissatisfaction and hopelessness among the excluded. Sooner or later, tensions will explode, generating violence and changes in the social paradigm. Layers and layers of free market policies end up exposing the reality of the unfortunate and vulnerable.

¨There was a time when men had to isolate themselves from each other.

Touching, hugging and dating were suppressed, as the threat came from the air.

With the pandemic spreading, the isolation intensified and each one was enclosed. Frightened little by little, they created symbiotic bodily defenses.

Some developed shells, others started to turn into oysters, closed in their shells and at the slightest invasive stress they started to produce pearls as self defense ...

But this is an old fable from a time that was lost.¨

Muiraquitã (amulet in Tupi-Guarani) is an invitation to disgust, at first sight it causes doubt whether to place it or not on the body. The inhospitable of white added to the sharp glass gives the idea of withdrawal or asking for it. The closing of the piece is done through magnets covered in glass, to reinforce the feeling of the desire to be together, even very close, but without the possibility of touch.

We are a family owned and operated business.

Crepe strips send me to hospitals; in aluminum, the blade that cuts our dreams and, through it, announces those who are no longer here; between wires, the Earth healing itself; and finally the faith of salvation.

Name of the work: Ioroque (Evil spirit, devil. Urukuiana mythology, Aparai, Wiana and Galibi (N) - type of representation equivalent to the devil; he is a god of darkness, ghostly, of diseases and death, invisible, can only be seen by the shaman when he invokes him.

It is a necklace coming from the "cannibalization" of several pieces belonging to creative processes that were interrupted by the isolation, resulting from the pandemic.

They are simple, do not eat, do not breathe or reproduce alone, have the power to cause great damage. This invisible enemy, which we cannot see with the naked eye, has plagued humanity, decimating the world's population.

Without romanticizing, the play "Farpas" represents our anxieties in the midst of isolation and in the face of so many uncertainties as if our air were missing. Living closely daily with our insecurities, defects and thorns. Time to be centered. And at the same time it is liberating to know the real reason and the momentary relief.

Necklace - mask. The pandemic represents a remarkable and phenomenal turning point, an end and, consequently, a new beginning. External transformations that lead us to deep internal reflections and dives, search for the "Essential". It shows the failure of a system that no longer serves us, an urgent need to build together a more egalitarian world, a new model of a more egalitarian society and one that has much more attention, respect and care for our planet, our nature and our peoples originating. With this in mind, I chose the fruit and seeds of a native Brazilian tree called Tamboril -Enterolobium maximum- as the main material of my piece. This fruit contains seeds inside, inviting us to reflect that everything is inside, that's where we need to find the resources we need to get through this moment and hopefully start to create a better world. The piece is made with the fruits and seeds of the tree and with copper. The materials are fixed with copper wire on flexible and recycled plate made from PET bottles.
